My macbook died, shows blinking folder with a question mark?

While I was working on my Macbook doing some task, the screen froze completely. Nothing was working, no key or clicks. After waiting for some time, I switched it off from power button. Almost after an hour, I restarted it and it showed screen with blinking folder and question mark. I did it again and again but, all ended with same screen, during this I also observed some clicking sound. But I am not sure if it’s dead or what kind of failure is this? It’s now in the repair shop just willing to know will they be able to recover drive data or what can I do to get data back.

Wiping g4 hard drive before recycling?

I am deciding of recycling my g4 based Mac system, but as it like keeping your safe open for others to steal data I get quite confused at times and not being able to take the right decision. So, I wanted to eradicate this possibility and this is possible with wiping mac hard drive. But I just don’t know the right way, thanks if anyone can help?

Got “file contains no image data” on connecting Nikon d80 to upload picture on Mac?

Day before yesterday, I started to get photos from my Nikon d80 onto Mac OS X Leopard; suddenly a message came up saying “file contains no image data”. I don’t think any of the images are deleted; they are still on the card but not viewable on computer or camera. What could I do to fix the problem? Can the photos be uploaded to some other system or I need another card reader, I need them back?

How to rebuild corrupted iPhoto 08 database?

I have using iPhoto 08 for quite a long time and never faced any issue with it. But last night I uncle has gifted me a new Mac, so I was just transferring all my files to the new Mac. I have also updated the iPhoto application in that Mac, so that I can avail the new and latest feature. But the thing that has happened with me is just opposite to what I have thought. Now, when I have already performed the updation and migration, I am unable to find any of the images when I opened the iPhoto. I don’t what happened and why the images are missing. So, please help to resolve the issue. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

How can I fix ‘drive not installed’ error message in Mac OS X?

While accessing data from Mac OS X hard drive I got an error message which says ‘drive not installed’. I don’t know what this error is all about as I am a new user of computer. As per the message it seems that there is some problem related to the drive, but there is nothing like that as all the drives are installed properly. I am really in a mess, so please help me out. I need help in the installation process. Only instructions I found that “First, Download the Disk Doctors Photo Recovery for Mac. The file which you are downloading is known as “PhotoRecoveryforMac.dmg” then install the file on your system”. This installation instruction is not helpful. Can anyone help me?

How to delete all the files from the Mac hard drive completely and permanently?

I have to sell my Mac system, so I want to delete all my files from it. But my Mac hard drive contains lots of confidential files which I want to protect. Simple deleting and emptying the Mac is not enough that I know, as the information can easily be restored later by using different available software’s. So, I just want to know, is there any way using which I can completely and permanently delete all my files and documents from the Mac hard drive? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to recover files from MacBook which has been USB formatted with FAT 32 file system?

From few days my MacBook’s performance has been degraded considerably. To enhance its performance I have formatted it using my USB with FAT 32 file system, but after formatting I couldn’t find some of my files stored in it. I have searched it in all possible places but I got nothing. The files are very important for me as it contain some important fact and figures. How to resolve the error message “file system dirty, run fsck” of Mac systems?

Last night when I started my Mac I got an error message while accessing files on hard drive which says – ‘file system dirty, run fsck’ soon after I got the message the system shut down automatically. When I am trying to restart the Mac is fails to restart and does not allows me to access any data. I have no clue about this error message, but I really need to access some of the important data stored in the hard drive. So, please help me out to resolve this error message?

How to trim, crop, add effects in the Quicktime movies ?

I have heard many things about the quicktime movies and also performed the conversion process. I have converted quicktime movies to wmv so that I can play them in the windows media player. But I have never altered or modify the quicktime movies like cropping the movies, trimming the movies or applying effects during the conversion process. I don’t know anything about this can anyone help me?

Mac Drive is making strange noise ?

I was using MacBook last night and all of a sudden a weird sound was start coming from my MacBook. Screen froze and display rainbow wait sign. Immediately I just shut it down. Again when I started my MacBook, the same problem started again. Screen was grey and a question mark coming again. .I really don’t understand what is going on man…. I am worried about my data stored on my MacBook, very..very…very important for me. Just help me guys……

Want to transfer SMS and voicemails of iPhone to the Mac. ?

I have an iPhone. My friend keeps me sending SMS and voicemails. Problem is that that the capacity of my iPhone is full. Now until and unless I will delete the SMS and voicemails new one will not be stored. I don’t want to remove them from my iPhone. I want to make them all safe. What can I do for it?

Eradicate mass storage error! ?

My G4 laptop crashed when I was running a task. Then to check I executed a hardware test. It indicated that because of mass storage error that is 2STF/8/3:ATA-100ata-6-master it crashed. I have loaded very important files on the partitioned hard drives. How I can run away from the trouble and manage collecting files of my laptop?

Making a Backup Copy of Mac OS Tiger ?

It’s always useful to make a Backup copy of all the important Documents of Computer. By knowing this fact also I have done the same mistake. I have not made a backup copy of my Mac OS Tiger. Now last night only my system got crashed and now the Mac System is not getting opened. I have to submit a report the next day. Is there any Software that can freely, easily and fastly make a Backup of my Mac OS Tiger?

How can I recover HFS+ file format ?

I am a mac user and using mac10.2. HFS+ format is supported by my system. I was doing some office work and suddenly power fails and when it came back my files are corrupted because an error message is showing on my monitor that file system is corrupted.
