How to resolve the error message “file system dirty, run fsck” of Mac systems?

Last night when I started my Mac I got an error message while accessing files on hard drive which says – ‘file system dirty, run fsck’ soon after I got the message the system shut down automatically. When I am trying to restart the Mac is fails to restart and does not allows me to access any data. I have no clue about this error message, but I really need to access some of the important data stored in the hard drive. So, please help me out to resolve this error message?

mariajohn 		File system is very critical component for systems to start and respond correctly and the error message that you have got is related to the file system. ‘Fsck’ as per defined in the error message is a utility which runs automatically to check and report file system problems, if the system finds it conflicting at the time of booting. In situations when ‘fsck’ fails to correct the file system issues, the errors can be reported as been mentioned above.
But nothing to worry about the data because it can be retrieved back by scanning as data remains in the Mac hard drive. So, just use any Data Recovery Mac software and retrieve the data effectively.
