File table got damaged while data recovery! ?

I need your help! Two days ago I was reinstalling XP on my laptop. External drive was also attached with it. Unfortunately reinstalling XP damaged the file table so I am unable to access my drive. I have used many of the recovery software but no one did what I want! Is there any good program who can build the corrupted file table again?

shenril 		This is not a big one which can not be sorted out. Knoppix live CD, stellar phoenix data recovery program and many are designed to handle file corruption. While booting the system from terminal, run NTFSFIX option. This will fix the entire files which are messed up. After the issue of corrupted file table is fixed you can get your data of windows without loosing any one of them. It is very important that the system should be booted properly otherwise again some kind of error can occur. Hope you understand the solution and all the best to repair the file table.
